I’m Cassy Johnston,
Front-end Developer
After graduating with my Digital Design Diploma in 2005 and working for a dynamic online marketing company with interests primarily in the French market, armed with years of excellent experience working on websites and online marketing campaigns, I decided to branch out on my own into front-end developing. I have since provided assistance on an array of websites and landing page campaigns from e-commerce shopping sites, holiday accommodation and property development, to an internet service provider and the automotive industry. I’ve mostly got a knack for front-end developing – I love using CSS to make a website look as close to a design as possible. Call me crazy but I find it relaxing; almost like painting by numbers!
I’m best at testing websites and emailers in multiple platforms and fixing the little problems that arise, and over the last 12 years I have moved away from the design side and towards the coding of websites and html newsletters. Over this time, I have become passionate about front-end developing and CSS. I also recently decided to refresh my skills by doing the UCT GetSmarter Web development course. I ended up receiving a 90% aggregate which helped me to feel confident in my current skill-set.
In my spare time, I love trying new restaurants, wine tasting and I’m a great food enthusiast – however with two small kids, at the moment, weekends are mostly spent running after them.
